Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year!
Welcome to the 2025-26 school year! We are excited to kick off another fantastic year of learning, connection, and growth!
This fall, we are thrilled to welcome our K-8 Hillsboro Online Academy and Homeschool Partnership students and staff to their new home at Groner Elementary School! This move marks an exciting new chapter for our community, giving us the chance to build deeper relationships, create more in-person learning opportunities, and foster an even stronger sense of belonging and support. We can’t wait to see the energy and collaboration that will come to life in this beautiful new space.
Our 9-12 High School students will remain housed at the Oak Street Campus in downtown Hillsboro, and this year we have some exciting new changes to our schedule and plans for more field trips and community service opportunities.
Whether you're a returning family or joining us for the first time, we are so glad you're here. At Hillsboro Online Academy, our mission remains the same: to empower each student through flexible, inclusive learning that meets them where they are. Our dedicated educators are here to support your family every step of the way.
We’re looking forward to seeing you at Orientation on August 27th—a key event to kick off the year! Families will meet their teachers and support team, receive technology and class schedules, and get a clear picture of what to expect this year. Please check your email in mid-August to sign up for a time slot. A reminder: students must attend orientation with a parent or guardian in order to begin classes.
This year, we’re focused on building an even stronger community. Look for more virtual and in-person events, learning opportunities, and celebrations. Our Parent Group got off to a great start last year, and we’re excited to keep growing it and offering more ways for families to get involved.
Your voice matters. As we begin this new school year, we encourage you to stay connected, share your feedback, and reach out to our team whenever you need support. Communication and collaboration are the foundation of a great educational experience, and we’re here for you.
Here’s to a joyful, successful, and inspiring 25–26 school year. We’re so grateful to have you with us on this journey!
Warmly,
Shannon Lawson
Principal
